Job Description
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain machinery and electrical equipment such as motors,
electrical circuits, SICK ATR systems, baggage handling equipment and conveyor systems in
accordance with diagrams, electrical drawings, operational manuals, and manufacturer’s
specifications using hand tools and precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Inspect diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical systems.
• Inspects the building, grounds, and equipment.
• Handles necessary repairs and maintenance.
• Installs equipment and appliances.
• Preventive Maintenance – Inspection, adjustment, cleaning, replacement and prepare follow-up
CM work orders if needed.
• Complies with all company safety regulations, company, and client training.
• Keeps a maintenance log and writes shift reports.
• Reports any issues to the maintenance manager.
• Responds to repair and maintenance requests in a timely fashion.
• Follows written and verbal instructions from the maintenance manager or clients.
• Collaborates with the maintenance team and contractors as needed.
• Reads and follows manuals, blueprints, and other written instructions.
• Able to operate equipment, including power tools, hand tools, electric tools, and plumbing
tools.
• Maintenance technicians are required to have their own personal tools
Minimum Requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Driver’s License and clean driving record.
• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to pass 10- year background check with Port Authority
• At least one year of building maintenance, construction, plumbing, or electrical experience is
strongly preferred, but not required.
• Handles the physical demands of the job, including standing, bending, pulling, pushing, climbing,
and lifting at least 50 pounds.
• Communicates effectively in English, speaking multiple languages is preferred.
• Collaborates with maintenance workers, maintenance managers, and contractors.
• Airport experience is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of computer systems
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule for a 24/7 operation including nights, weekends,
and/or holidays
